Family reunions

A Family Reunion Cabin in the Red River Gorge

Red River Château puts up to 15 family members under one roof in Kentucky's Red River Gorge: three levels, 5 full baths, a large kitchen for shared meals, a loft for the kids and a hot tub for the grown-ups, with easy day trips for every age.

Why families book the whole house

  • One house, three levels

Up to 15 people together, with enough separation that grandparents and teenagers both get some peace.

  • 5 full bathrooms

Custom-tiled full baths, so a big family gets out the door faster.

  • A kitchen for big meals

Granite counters and room for several cooks at once, for family recipes and a big breakfast.

  • A loft for the kids

The loft works as a games, movie or sleepover space above the great room.

  • Hot tub

The adults' favorite after the kids are asleep.

  • Easy day trips

Natural Bridge's Skylift, an underground boat tour and short arch hikes all suit mixed ages.

A three-day reunion plan

Day 1: arrive and settle in

Check in from 4:00 PM. Give people a few hours to arrive, then have a big family dinner.

Day 2: Natural Bridge

Ride the Skylift (seasonal, roughly mid-March to late October) or walk the Original Trail to the arch, picnic by the lake, and be back for the hot tub. See our Natural Bridge guide.

Day 3: pick your adventure

Teens and adults might try the zipline or a guided climb. Younger kids enjoy the reptile zoo or the underground kayak tour. Everyone meets back at the house for a last dinner. More ideas: things to do in the Red River Gorge.

What is there to do nearby for all ages?

Natural Bridge State Resort Park (about 25–30 minutes) has a chairlift, short trails and a lake. The Kentucky Reptile Zoo in Slade runs venom demonstrations, and Gorge Underground offers guided kayak tours in a flooded mine (ages 5 and up).
