A micro-wedding keeps the guest list to your closest family and friends: a ceremony outdoors on the ridge and dinner together afterward. If the list grows, the same property hosts full weddings of up to 100.

Why a micro-wedding works here

The house is built for a group. With 15 beds and 5 full bathrooms, the couple, the wedding party and close family can all stay on site, so getting ready isn't a scramble and nobody drives after the toasts.

The great room opens onto the deck through a wall of glass doors, the covered wraparound porch gives guests shade and shelter, and the large parking lot has room for guest cars and vendor trucks. You rent the whole house, so there's no other event on the property.

A two-night micro-wedding weekend

Here's one way a two-night weekend at the house could look:

  1. Friday, 4 PM: check in, settle rooms, and have a casual rehearsal dinner in the great room.
  2. Saturday morning: get ready with five full bathrooms, then take first-look photos on the deck.
  3. Saturday afternoon: hold the ceremony outdoors on the ridge, followed by dinner and toasts.
  4. Saturday night: the hot tub, the loft, and a last drink on the porch.
  5. Sunday, by 11 AM: farewell breakfast and check-out.

For seasons, timelines and logistics, read the Red River Gorge wedding planning guide.

What if it rains?

Every wedding has an on-site rain plan: the covered deck holds up to 75 guests, and the great room and covered wraparound porch add space. For a micro-wedding of up to 50, that means the whole guest list fits under cover with the gorge view.

Guest lodging nearby

15 guests sleep at the château. Everyone else usually books nearby cabins or Hemlock Lodge at Natural Bridge State Resort Park, about 25–30 minutes away. Book guest rooms early for October, when fall color brings the Red River Gorge's busiest weekends. Share our arrival directions with guests: Google Maps may route them over an unpaved 4x4 road.

The minimum stay is 2 nights, including for weddings. See all rates and the Grand Opening offer. For a fully planned weekend, the Château Signature Wedding starts from $100,000.
